Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week - Day 2: Anand Bhushan Spring Summer 2011

When I first saw pictures of designer Anand Bhushan's Spring Summer 2011 line, I tweeted him about the only gripe I had with his collection called Gridlock, that I think the structured dresses could have been softened a bit to flatter the curves of a woman's body. Now that may sound contradictory considering it is a structured silhouette and not some flowy dress, but from what I see in the pictures, not having actually seen the clothes in person, those particular dresses appear tough and weighed down to me. Now onto the praises, I think the collection is very sophisticated and the quality of the clothes and construction, impeccable. It's ladylike but not girly or prissy. The textured floral embellishments look three dimensional, finely woven grid patterns, finely crafted macrame, delish gelato colours; like the combination of mint and yellow, balanced proportions and overall great designs make Anand Bhushan's collection a winner.
