Rosemount Australia Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011

I find Australian fashion very exciting and invigorating. Australians are so trendy and great style setters. Until now, the only Aussie label I was familiar with was Sass and Bide, but after looking at Dion Lee and couple of other Australian Designers' work on the Vogue UK site, I am quite amazed. The Spring shows are a breath of fresh air, after looking at all the heavy coats, shearling and leather jackets of the fall runway this past February.

Looking at Dion Lee's work; it's no wonder he is considered one of Australia's best designers. This was definitely one of the best collections from the Rosemount Australia Fashion Week, the most cutting edge. Yes note the cutting edge construction and precision in draping in some of the pieces, for lack of a better word, it is outstanding!

I was drawn to the whites in Jayson Brundson's Spring Summer 2011 collection, the clean lines and sophisticated styles, with accents of aqua, coral and nude.

Camilla and Marc's collection was full prettiness and soft looks. The draped mini tulip/petal skirts reminded Some of Balenciaga. The pink dress with a juxtaposition of a trapeze poncho on the top and pleated mini in the bottom was my favourite of the lot, though a tad heavy, the construction was very clever and pattern quite ingenious.

Alice McCall has done pieces every girl would like to sport, she understands what 'girls who like to play dress up' would like to have in their wardrobe. Striking digital, animation and graphic prints with a pop of colour were the highlights of Alice McCall's Spring Summer 2011 collection.

I am a sucker for simple, Bassike's Spring Summer 2011collection had some nice, clean and simple lines that I immediately took a liking to. Starting with the simple blue shirt, the hem at the back is longer than the front and almost falls like a tail coat. Similarly with the nude beige dress and the coral number, made for a simple yet sharp style.
